Josh, Kim, & Grayson
This should probably be labeled Josh, Kim, & Grayson, ft. Grayson's yellow bag of graham crackers. Because sometimes photos are just stressful and a toddler needs his comfort food. The weekend leading up to our session, we weren't sure it was going to work out based on weather. We decided to go for it and when we started it was a beautiful, sunny day. As soon as I see the family I see that they are dressed to absolute perfection, and Grayson looks excessively handsome (no doubt he always looks excessively handsome). We started shooting, and immediately Grayson was distracted by every single passing car, PLUS he started running AWAY from the camera - LOL. After a couple of minor meltdowns and me singing and dancing to Toy Story songs for him (not the prettiest sight by the way), Grayson knocked it out of the park, and was a total champ. And just when we were getting the hang of things, it OBVIOUSLY had to rain. These guys were awesome though, and we made it work.
I've known Kim since grade school, and Josh since high school, and getting to take their family photos has been an amazing way to reconnect after so many years. Watching their relationship and family grow is truly a blessing. Seeing them as parents is beautiful, but I was also so happy that they were down for some couples photos just the two of them (shout out to Kim's mom for watching Grayson during this time!). Their cute outfits, sweet smiles, and genuine laughter made for beautiful photos.
